Possessor’s Gravelands album was the second full length PR campaign I took on, and I was still finding my feet. I was so pleased to work with a cult band who had a really strong following, backed by a small label that was rising in popularity. This one was a real challenge for me in the sense that I felt like I had jumped into the deep end, but it was such a brilliant learning experience.
ACCOLADES
“If you like your music filthy, dark, and coated in the same mould that plagued so many video cassettes back in the ’80s, then dive in to this fully-fried and catchy as Hell smorgasbord of retro lashings and scuzzy, amplified demonic yelps.”
~ Metal Forces – 9/10
“That unique blend of punk and metal combined with the horror atmosphere fits a really nice niche a lot of us on the darker side of the musical spectrum can enjoy.”
~ Heavy Blog Is Heavy
“They have a stoner doom groove and a thrash sensibility, immersed in the music and feeling no pain.”
~ Cvlt Nation
FROM THE PRESS KIT
Gravelands is Possessor’s most fully realised work to date, marrying elements of horror punk, stoner and classic heavy metal into one seamless entity. Possessor’s dedication to horror is legendary, beaming through in their lyrics and artwork. Gravelands pushes Possessor’s sonic capabilities further forward, with a production taking influences from noise rock and grunge. Throughout Gravelands, the performances are savage and fierce, with feisty vocals, lightning guitar playing and a frantic energy cooked up by thrashy and choppy drums. Possessor play with a relentless stride, where even the slower riffs carry forward their unstoppable momentum, with so much raw heat and bloodthirsty riffs on show. If the Texas Chainsaw Massacre family were to form a band, they might just sound like Possessor!
Released July 26th 2019 on Vinyl, CD, Cassette and Digital by APF Records.
