ORME – NO SERPENTS, NO SAVIOURS

The UK’s slowest power trio ORME continue to challenge listeners – and myself as a publicist – with their lengthy, uncompromising drone metal. Following from their debut double album consisting of two very long tracks, ORME have changed gears to make their 24 minute long behemoth No Serpents, No Saviours, favouring a death doom metal approach. The icing on the cake is that the trio have teamed up with producer and engineer Wayne Adams (who also worked on TORPOR’s Abscission album last year), who has only made them sound larger, more visceral, heavier and more expansive.

Fortunately, ORME’s debut (and subsequent ambient split with Wreaths) captured the intrigue of many great music publications, and we were able to build on that, culminating in the trio landing a review in the pages of Metal Hammer. It’s been a real pleasure to work with ORME again and see them grow. 2024 has been all about conquering the festival circuit, with ORME performing at Masters Of The Riff III, Desertfest London, Ruination, Cosmic Vibration and Fell Foot Woods this year, bringing their uncompromising drones of destruction to new ears.

Who knows where ORME will go from here, but it can only be onwards and upwards.

ACCOLADES
“ORME’s psychedelic dynamics remain, favouring grisly death/doom riffing over vast drones.”
~ Metal Hammer #391

“Mesmerizingly hypnotic, enthralling and captivating. This is one to take to the grave.”
~ Metal Noise – 8/10

“There is no safe passage for those who chose to stand face to face with the destructive might of this EP. It strikes in waves of cold isolation. Crushing anything in its path.”
~ Monuments In Ruin

FROM THE PRESS KIT
The Hertfordshire, UK based trio return with NO SERPENTS, NO SAVIOURS – without a doubt their heaviest, most obliterating and cutthroat recording to date. Engineered by coveted producer Wayne Adams at London’s Bear Bites Horse Studios (home to TORPOR, Wallowing, Petbrick), ORME have concocted this 24 minute death doom metal sculpture of violence and savagery, like nothing else in their discography before.

The trio present a lengthy and challenging sonic maelstrom, but compared to their previous offerings this is ORME’s most urgent performance and immediate composition so far. Within the first minute of hitting play, ORME will tear your face off with suffocating downtuned riffs steeped from horn to talon in oozing, repugnant tar thick bass and acidic razor sharp fuzzed out guitars, set to battering ram drums and truly demonic vocals in dire need of an exorcism. This is that exact type of dense, ultra-distorted ear pulverizing chaos that has become producer and engineer Wayne Adams’ signature sound – the reason why so many of the UK’s heaviest bands make pilgrimage to his vintage amp and pedal laden sonic cathedral.

Released August 23rd on CD and Digital.
