Hull, UK based trio STILL unleash their sophomore album A THEFT today.
A Theft is a powerful, brutal and harrowing meditation on grief and inner torment. Distilling the band’s sound into their most intense and vicious set of songs yet, Still deliver an emotional and sonic onslaught of blistering blasting drums, angular dissonant guitar, and tortured dual vocals, fighting through a dark foreboding atmosphere. Still’s cutthroat performances and nuanced compositions have been captured in fine textured detail by producer (and Pijn guitarist) Joe Clayton at No Studio in Manchester (home of recordings by Bossk, Mastiff, Underdark, Wode, Wallowing and many more).

“It encompasses you in such a way that it blocks out everything… All your emotions, all your thoughts, all your feelings just disappear, and you just exist in the music.”
~ 5/5 Metal Epidemic
“A Theft is certainly not for the casual listener, but for those who want their music to challenge them and to reflect the darker and more painful realities of life and death, it is certainly going to turn a few heads.”
~ 9/10 Distorted Sound Magazine
“A miserably beautiful piece of work which puts the band high in the ranks of the finest blackened post-hardcore available today.”
~ Echoes & Dust
“Layers upon layers of intangible ideas made tangible through the sheer talent of a band focusing on the spaces between horror and brutality.”
~ 10/10 GBHBL
“Absolutely harrowing blackened post-metal. The three-piece curdles their dissonance into a labyrinthine sound. Ulcerate fans cannot miss this.”
~ Boolin Tunes

“Outwardly brutal and inwardly tortured in equal measure… A claustrophobic release of pain, fury and total discontent that serves as the linchpin of STILL’s sound.”
~ Noizze
“A sonic maelstrom of noise; STILL sound even harsher than ever before. One of the most compelling bands the UK underground has to offer.”
~ Ninehertz
“STILL return with their heaviest, most uncompromising work yet. It’s raw and unapologetically heavy; STILL have crafted an album that demands attention.”
~ bUTTONpUSHER
“STILL go straight for the jugular regularly across this collection of malevolent songs… The sort of claustrophobic dissonance that reaches out of the speakers and grabs you by the throat.”
~ Wonderbox Metal
“The last earthly bonds dissolve as if by themselves, while STILL beats at their own wounded soul again and again. Pain, despair, hopelessness – all of this and much more can be heard in ‘A Theft’.”
~ 8/10 Demonic Nights

A Theft is out now on Vinyl, CD, Cassette and Digital formats through Floodlit Recordings.
