Praetorian have signed to APF Records to release their debut album in early 2025. Hailing from North Hertfordshire, the quartet delivers a devastating blend of blackened sludge, doom riffs, and chaotic noise rock. Their intense, bowel-rattling sound – coupled with frontman Tom Clements’ (also of Orme and ex-Everest Queen) wild, unpredictable live antics – has made them a force to be reckoned with in the UK underground.

Following on from their 2022 EP A Deluge of Bad Faith, APF will be releasing their debut full-length album Pylon Cult in early 2025, recorded by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studios. With a foundation of sludge metal at its core, the album encompasses black metal, doom and post-metal, creating a dynamic sound that is as diverse as it is destructive. The album will take listeners on a wild ride through fast, slow, and ridiculously heavy sections, punctuated by rare moments of subdued calm that lure you in just before the storm returns.
Speaking about the signing, APF Records boss Andrew Field says, “In a whole different stratosphere from the EP, the album is a blisteringly heavy, unrelenting juggernaut. it’s already blown heads clean off at APF HQ. Can’t wait for you all to hear it.”
More details about Praetorian’s debut album will follow soon.
